Leather String & Ring

Hello,

I'm new to this forum - I'm basically looking for advice on how to fix a ring to a leather string. The string doesn't have any specific clasps etc. - so I'm looking for ways to tie the string together that'll achieve two things:

1. Look nice where it meets the ring.
2. Looks unobtrusive where it is tied together at the neck.

Any and all suggestions welcome!

I'm a little confused. Is the ring part of the fastening, or is it the pendant at the front?

A nice way to finish leather is to tie a loop at one end, and at the other end tie on a bead, then the loop fits over the bead a nd acts as the fastener.

The ring's in front, pendant-like. I'm not quite sure how to do what you suggested...

If it's a doughnut type thing like a pendant best thing is to fold your cord in half, push the middle bit (the loop) through the hole and then thread the two loose ends through the loop and pull tight. You can also get the necklace ends which you can crimp over leather thong, cord etc and attach clasps and jumprings.

this necklace on my misi shows what I mean bout attaching the donut pendant, it is also finished with the necklace ends which are crimped on.

The other posters idea was good too though where you create a loop at one end and a attach a bead to other end and bead threads through loop to fasten. Similar to this but obviously with cord.

Thanks for the ideas! I like all of them, especially the one with looping the ends through. What I'm looking for now would be some kind of knot or similar to put after the looping, i. e. I feed the ends through the loop as in the choker picture, and then tie a knot of some kind - something that looks nice would be great.
