  • Advice on Rondelles

I am in the process of making freshwater pearl and swarovski bicone jewellery and wanted to put a rondelle between some of the pearls. The pearls I am using are 5-6mm and 6-7mm. What size of rondelles should I get? I bought some that I thought were 7mm but they are way to big, the don't look right next to the pearls. Am I supposed to get a smaller size than the pearls? Also can anyone tell me where I can get gold plated ones rather than silver?

    Thank you

because the rondells sit on the smaller part of the pearl you will need to get ones that are 1-2mm smaller than the pearls, that way they will sit snuggly with the pearls.

You definately need rondelles to be smaller than the bead size.

If any help I have Silver Plated rondelles set with crystals in 4.5mm, 5mm and 6mm but I'm not sure if these is the type of rondelle you're looking for, as the word 'rondelle' is generic to the shape in many types of bead.

They only real way I think you are going to know is to get a few different sizes and experiment. I'd go for 5mm and work it from there.
