  • Payment...

Hello! I have a couple of fairs and parties coming up and i was just thinking about methods of payment. Does anyone take cards? or is it just cash and cheques!? Or is there anything else people do regarding ideas for payment!?

There was recently a thread posted on this very subject - I think it was in the Craft Fairs section last week about Card Reader. Lots of sound advise on there.

cash or cheques are the norm....card readers are far too expensive to have for the odd fair.
paypal via a wifi is an option but to be honest it is alot of hassle and maybe not everybody would be comfortable putting their details in somebody elses pc

most people do take cash and if they fall in love with a piece and don't have enough on them you can always put it to one side while they go to a hole in the wall

good luck with the fairs and parties

A lot of jewellers who do regular shows have chip and pin machines. I wouldn't be without mine as I think I'd lose lots of sales. But it's only worth it if you'd get loads of use from it as they're quite expensive to rent. Another option is to use your mobile phone with a company called Adelante. I used to do that and found it quite satisfactory.
