Finally getting somewhere with my plastic jewellery but I need to source findings. I will be using see through elastic stuff (can't remember what it is called!) for putting the bits of plastic on and I want something silver in colour to fasten it. What would be the easiest type of fastening to use and where can I get them from?
    Thanks in advance

Forgive my thickiness but is it a necklace that you want a clasp for?

Doh! Might have helped to mention it!! Yes it's for a necklace and possibly a bracelet too - can I use the same findings for both?

I hope so coz I have in the past!!
I threaded beads onto some wire, put a crimp bead on then either end(theres either the bit with the claspy bit that opens up or the bit that the open up bit gets hooked onto to fasten) of the clasp, then thread the wire back through the crimp bead and crimp. You can then cover the crimp bead with a crimp cover or a callotte which is a crmp cover that opens up like a (now the only thing I can thing of here is a burger, also shell comes to mind but I cant recall the correct name for a 2 shelled shell)and it has a connected hook to it.

Hoep that helps in some way.
These can be bought from most craft shops/sites.

                Hi .
if it's elastic your threading on to you won't need fastenings just tie ends together and thread back into beads. I usualy use double elastic for extra strengh. if you want to use fasterners then use clear plastic thread you wont need the strech.
