  • Amber Chips

I could do with a bit of help with this.

My Aunt has asked me to restring her Amber Chips to make into a necklace for her, what kind of thread would you reccomend?

I have had a look at what they are on alread and they have a knot between each one - is this needed or can they just be strung together?

    Thanks

I use sylamide if I want the necklace to be quite flexible and fireline if I want it to be a bit stronger. I've never tied knots between amber chips (see my planets) and not had any problems... but if the chips are very large, it might be a good idea.

If they already have knots bewenn and you thread them with out then the size of the final necklace will be shorter. You can always add a spacer bead between or a seed bead to give the smae appearance.

you could use silk, beadalon sell these little rubber things to thread on in place of knotting if you are not wanting to knot
