Help with crimp beads

Have found that if I pull on items hard that have crimp beads they fall apart an suggestions?

Are you using Silver plate or Sterling? Plate are reknowned for being brittle whereas Sterling ones are more malleable

I have used plated crimps for many years with no problems, however, I don''t think they like the crimping pliers very much. Squeeze as hard as you can and have a good tug after that, you shouldn't have a problem. I buy beadalon crimps as there are a lot of rubbish ones out there.

Only use sterling, plated need a very gental hand

I only use sterling crimps they are much more secure than the plated ones as the metal is softer and less likely to break. They are not as expensive as you think, even if the rest of the metal is plated they only add a few pence onto the price of a necklace.
