Does anyone make their own Tiara Bases,Bands?

Hi

I am thinking of making my own tiara bands from wire and need a little help.......
What would be the best guage wire to use and also does anyone have problems getting the wire components to stay fixed.

I have tried a "mock up one" and because the main wire does not have any slight grooves on like the wholesale bought ones, the components keep slipping around no matter how firmly I wrap them.Perhaps there is
something else I should be doing , would appreciate any help and advice.

you could try a bit of glue on each componant!

Ive not made my own yet, i prefer the crown bands

I find roughing up the wire works well. Hope this helps

Great minds think alike.
I bought some small files last week and scratched the inner edges of the tiara shaped wire.I only tried it on the silver plated so far as sterling silver is a bit expensive to make a mess on.I had to sand down the rough edges as they where quite coarse ,but used a very fine emery paper for this
I wrapped some components around and they seemed to grab onto the wire quite well.
Will carry on experimenting with new designs ,just as we crafters do LOL.
