  • Firing times for Art Clay

    Hi there

I have used PMC in a few classes and have been told that whilst you can kiln-fire it for just 30 mins, the longer you fire it (max 2 hours) the stroner the end piece will be.

Does the same apply to Art Clay?

    Thanks

    Kirsten

Yes it does, I always fire my silver pieces for 2 hours, as long as they don't have stones or glass in them

It also helps (if you haven't got stones in your piece) if you fire hotter e.g 850 not 650.
