  • News from my first jewellery party......

    Hello all.
Well, I had my first jewellery party last night at a freind of my Mum's.
She had invited a load of her friends and neighbours and her daughter also had her friends there so there was a mix of ages and types etc.

I set up about 70% of my stuff because I just ran out of room for it, and I did end up getting a bit mixed up with the bags etc for the stuff as people were passing stuff round and they were getting mixed up, so I'll try to be more organised next time. I also forgot my price list (DOH - I printed it off before I left for the party then completely forgot to take it with me) but the plastic bags I keep my jewellery in had the prices and labels on so I had to hunt through my bags to find the prices. Otherwise, it went very well.
I made £120 and got orders for another £130, so I'm really pleased with that as there were only about 20 people there so it was a good result.

The charm bracelets sold like hotcakes and I have orders for about 5 or 6 more in different colours and styles, and also for some of my semi-precious stuff. Actually my bracelets sold much better than anything else, don't know why this should be but it seemed that way.

Anyway, it's given me a big boost for my 1st craft fair in April, so once these orders are out of the way I'll have to start building up my stock again.

It was a good experience overall.

Well done! Sounds like a proper confidence boost and a great result!

well done! did you get any more party bookings from it?

And what did you offer the party organiser? % of money or jewellery?

                Hi.
I gave the host a bracelet worth £10, two bottles of wine and she ordered another £15 worth of stuff which I am giving her free of charge.
So that works out to about £25 worth of stuff (about 10% of my total).
She is a frined of my Mum's anyway so she was doing it as a favour too.
I may be doing another party on a few months time at another friend of my Mum's (god bless mother's).
