Copper/sterling Silver Wire Suppliers

Hi all,

I am looking to get hold of reasonably priced wire, both copper for practicing and sterling silver but looking for the heavier gauge 12/14/16 at good prices.

Have looked around and the prices vary can anyone recommend a really reasonable supplier that does not rip you off for the postage.

For copper, definitely wires.co.uk

For sterling, any of the bullion suppliers - cookson gold/palmers/rashbel.

If you want 14 gauge, I think it has to be Rashbel

For copper to practice with I'd check out your local Maplins shop as they sell biiiiiiiiiiiiiiiig reels of the stuff for around a fiver in lots of different gauges.

I did a bit of price comparing amongst the various sites last week and found Palmers to be the best price for sterling wire but I only checked for one size. Just a point to note though . . . . . at Palmers the price drops dramatically when you buy more than 10 g.
