Is this a good (but expensive!) advertising thing?
Im giving away jewellery as part of a valentines promo on a mailing list- this way it gets people who dont own anything by me (or who do and want a freebie haha) to see what i make. the way i see it is i dont have many ppl on my facebook group so it's a way of saying thanks and showing the work i put into it.

Might be an idea for other ppl, those who havent done craft fairs before etc, as you get feedback and advertising

ps. My mouse keeps jumping on my arm when im typing!! wants me to cuddle him

Is this a mailing you are sending out or are you paying to be on some one elses?

I have given away countless items, just for the reason you said. I figure it will get people talking about me if nothing else!

Notonthehighstreet.com who I sell with asked me last year to provide 15 freebies to go into Christmas stockings for the editors of glossies. So far I've had no feedback from any of the glossies. I don't think I'd do it again, though you never know, maybe later in the year it'll pay off.
      Best wishes

Tsk, do the editors decide that! I'd want to be sure that the item would go somewhere be appreciated, not to just end up in a rando office.

No I pay for postage to send it out though! Its free to setup a faebook group. I sent a message out to all members so it goes in their inbox.

Im making some cufflinks this weekend but i thik thats the most showy of the pieces, the rest are thigs like amethyst n silver earrings, crystal pieces, whih wont cost too muh to post

          Hi
I did a freebie earring kit once for a local ball (200 of them, took me ages to put them together as well) and I thought it might get people interested in jewellery making who weren't already and I didn't get one enquiry or sale from them. It was very disappointing and I wouldn't do it again!
