My first bride!!! Advice needed please.

Help, I have just got my first brides necklace to make. She remembered me from a shopping evening i did at my local community centre! She liked the choker that I was wearing and has been looking around but can't get this out of her mind - how nice is that! I am so excited but a bit scared at the same time. Here is the choker so you know what i am on about! She obviously wants it in a different colour.

My question is: what is the best wire to use so that it looks bright and shiny, and doesn't tarnish? I use sterling silver in the rest of my jewellery, should i use this? Or are the enamelled silver wires better - they claim they are anti-tarnish but i have never used them so wouldnt know. Or something else?

I would be inclined to use sterling silver wire but you could offer the anti tarnish wire as a cheaper alternative. I have used some anti tarnish wire and it has been good.

It would depend on how much she wanted to pay. Sterling would be nicer.

I would think for a wedding she would want it sterling, it will be bright and stunning for her big day and that is all anyone would want. OK so it will tarnish a bit in time but sterling will always have the kudos when she talks about her "bespoke stering silver necklace" rather than her plated necklace.

Most definitely will. Get quite a few from wearing my jewellery. Had a shop ask me aswell, it can't hurt to wander into little gift boutiques wearing your jewellery in the hope that the owner will ask .

Best to quote her for both sterling silver and anti tarnish wire and let her decide if her budget can cope with it

Can't really help with what is best for you to use, but personally if it was for me I would rather have sterling.
