  • 50% discount code for beads! YAHOO

The code is 28209 for The Bead Bazaar.
It's been posted in the BEADS forum but just incase any of you don't check that forum, here it is.
I've used it twice in the last 3 days (yeah i'm addicted) and it worked both times.
You have to use it just before you check out.
I got loads for my money, they have nice gemstones and stuff, check it out.
I think the code finishes at the end of this month.

Somebody posted this a couple of weeks ago too, and I took advantage of it. I would be interested to know what other people thought of them, I was impressed at the speed they sent the order out, didn't think the prices were anything special before the discount but great with it! When my order arrived though, it absolutely stank of smoke! I emailed and asked them for their comments, and she basically said that I had lied, their's was a smoke free warehouse and not to bother ordering anything from them again! So much for customer service in this age of fighting for custom, I would have been quite happy with an apology and would have given them a second chance - oh well, not my loss!

Yes, I had the same problem, as did a few folk on here, it was very gross and I still haven't used what I bought. How rude to tell you not to bother shopping there again, I wont be either although I didn't complain - well I did whinge on here, but I didn't say anything to the company.

                oops

                Oh!
I've not received mine yet but here's a thought......some packing bags do have a smoky smell - there are always threads on the ebay forum about stuff smelling of smoke, but it turns out that a lot of the postal bags actually have a really smoke like smell, it's just the plastic stuff. I'll let you know how mine is!

mine weren't stinky when they arrived.

I agree with posts above, some packing materials have a bit of a whiff to them, are you guys absolutely sure it is cigarette smoke and not just niffy packing.

Remember that cigarettes have some similar ingredients to plastics (benzene, formaldehyde etc)

They reaked not just the bags but the individual beads. How rude of them I can't believe what they said to you.

                          me again

                          Hi again.
                          Just received my order.
It does smell a bit smokey, but I am convinced it is the packaging. The inside of the envelope is very strong and that is where the smell emanates from, not from the beads although they have picked up a bit of the smell.

I am sure a company would not be so silly as to have their workers smoking around their products. Honestly, this has been a huge problem on ebay, there are always tons of posts about smelly clothes etc, and most of the sellers say they have had a problem with certain types of mail or post bags, that smell very strongly of 'smoke' but it is actually the plastics etc lining the mail bag.

I may be wrong, but I can't honestly see a company sending out stuff from a smoky environment, not with the law the way it is now re. smoking indoors etc.

I think the smell will dissipate if they are left out to air, if not I will try the bicarb soda trick.
What's everyone elses thoughts? I'm due another package tomorrow from them so will update then.

The nice thing about being a bead supplier is that it doesn't take many people to run it, and not a lot of storage space is needed either. A bead 'company' can look huge on the internet, yet be run, as mine is, from one room in the house! If it's a smoking household you're gonna get smokey beads, simple as that!
There is also the point that if you are offered 50% discount you get what you pay for!
