  • Need a shove - peridot necklace

I was going to make a peridot necklace for OHs mum. Im still going to and want to do it tonght but im lacking in the imagintion department.

I wanted to do somethng with the bit of 0.6 sterling wire, chain and very small peridot stones i have. I was thinking something along the lines of bundles of peridots between chain, with hte wire being used for the peridots and i attach them with jump rings. But im not sure how large the bundles ahould be and stuff like that.

Anyone any ideas. I want it simple, light but as stunning as i can get it.

How about a peridot necklace with bits of chained draped along it, like vines?

But designing is the fun part of handcrafted jewellery!
      (or the finished article hehe)

Maybe you should choose whichever technique you are best at / find the most enjoyable, I dont know about peridot as i havent used it, but it's a great colour so you may want to keep this as the only stone to make the most of it.

          You have that friday feeling!!

Some people sketch their designs. I just go straight into it and end up disliking and destroying some of it, (quite a few i end up losing), but it's not really a waste of time to do that as it focuses your mind /therapeutic!

Whatever you make im sure will be pretty

What about a Cleopatra style necklet with graduating lengths of chain hanging from a wire collar (or chain) At the end of each wire, you could wire on a peridot?

I usually put the components on the bench and make a few changes to the order they are while im thinking, make a few part drawings and a few notes of ideas then start to assemble it mbearing in mind there may be a change or 2 whilst I'm working on it.

with a list like that I would lean towards linking a couple of short strings of peridots with eye pinsseperated by a few links of chain , hanging them on the chain and maybe a couple of wire scrolls to drop down to another short string of peridots to give it another level
