  • Hallmark on wire jewellery....

I know that sterling jewellery over a certain weight has to be stamped. yes? What about wire jewellery? Do you think any of the wire pendants i made will ne heavy enough for stamping? I plan to sell them this weekend!

I doubt whether any will be over 7.7g but if you want to be sure you could always weigh a piece of wire and measure it so you know roughly what length of wire is 7g. On made up pieces you could always weight it and than weigh a matching stone and the difference will be the silver content.

I think it's good to point out that the 7.78g only relates to the silver content and not to any stones etc. As stated by Silvemaid

It can be very tricky on wire anyway, if it's particularly fine. A lazer mark would mean it wasn't 'damaged' in the way a punch mark does dent the silver but I've been told they don't work so well on round wire as the curve confuses the lazer!
But, like others have said, if it doesn't need marking, cos of weight, then best not to worry.
