Do you wear stuff and then sell it??

Just wondering if anyone that makes jewellery has ever warn their stuff and then sold the item afterwards? Very cheeky I know but I want to wear everything!! At the moment my personal jewellery collection is growing huge as I work my way through the stock and then don't sell it!

I have been known to borrow a piece or two if I am going out somewhere, but then I don't actually have a large personal collection.

I do have a pair of earwires that are MINE, and if I borrow some earrings, then I change them onto my wires, and then change them back afterwards, and of course everything is given a wipe over.

I have also been known to sell a necklace from around my neck before now!

Well I don't have my ears pierced so I don't have the hygine problem! Maybe I can place some pieces back into my 'for sale' collection then!

Well only you know they have been worn, and anyway, at least they have been test driven!

I do the same as delta and 'borrow' stuff from my stock. If i like any earrings I make a second pair just for me.
If I make a new style and not sure how it will hang or last, I will wear it for a couple of days. It's called product testing.
If someone likes a necklace I'm wearing I offer to sell it to them off my neck in a joke-y way but if they don't want to then I offer to make them one very similar if I know I have the same beads. Although I once delivered the same necklace to them - cleaned - because I couldn't find more beads and they didn't know any different.

Guess I do the same, if I like earrings I make another pair for me. but I have been known to test wear a piece now and again. Haven't been lucky enough to sell the one I'm wearing tho.

Guilty as charged!! I regularly wear necklaces and bracelets but I always make a second pair of earrings if I fall in love with a pair. I think it gives you an idea if the item might sell too, if lots of people comment how nice it is then maybe its time to put it on the stall! Selina

Well I'm def going to go with the market research argument! I just hope my friends don't notice if they come to any sales and see somethign I have been wearing! I suppose I could lie and say I have made two

I "test drive" practically everything that I make, often someone will comment on it and order one the same. I only wear each item once to check that it hangs correctly or to check that there are no "jaggy" bits. Earrings then get put into the sonic cleaner so there is no problem selling them after wearing them.
