  • ordering from america

I have just been browsing fire mountain beads from the usa, they have some really nice beads but the shipping charges convert in to £10 GBP .

Can any crafter tell me if this is the normal charges. I only wanted a few beads so it would be very light.

    thanks

I've e mailed Fire Mountain a couple of times about their international charges. The reply, although very friendly and helpful, has always been unbending. They blame the charges on carriers and the weight of the consignment, I did mention that other US companies charge considerably less, but they aren't interested. The order I wanted to give them came to about $20 - carriage was $35! It just meant I had to find more UK suppliers!

Ive ordered form America about 3 times and the charge has been around £5 which seems reasonable.

That's the point. We're talking about how expensive FMG is compared with other US suppliers for carriage. I can order from Shiana in Thailand for half what FMG charges!
