  • Hello, I'm new here

    Hello,

My name is Elinor and I've recently found this forum. You all seem like such a nice friendly helpful bunch I thought I'd de-lurk and join in.

I have been making bead and wire jewellery for about 6 months or so, but I am now totally addicted. I have mostly made dangly earrings and bracelets, lots of colourful memory wire ones, some charm ones and some crimp and straightforward beaded ones. Necklaces seem to be my stumbling block with inspiration, although the few I've made I'm really pleased with. I like using a mixture of materials, wood, metal, glass, acrylic etc to create different textures. I came to jewellery from card making, and it's so much more satisfying and fun.

I've no idea if my stuff is any good, but friends who have seen it, like it. I've given away some of it as gifts, but as I'm making more than I could ever possibly wear, I'd like to start selling it too. My biggest fear is it falling apart or becoming tarnished and horrible.

My 7 year old daughter seems to have caught the bug too, she keeps stealing my beads to make things for herself!

Anyway, that's me, I hope that all you experienced jewellery makers out there will be able to help me with all the questions that occur to me every day!

Looking forward to getting to know you all

    Elinor
