  • Long Beaded Necklace

Hello, i'm looking at making a long necklace (the sort you can wrap round your neck a couple of times) using seed beads and the odd bigger bead. The ones i have seen dont seem to have an end- i mean they go all the way round but they dont have a clasp or a jump ring or anything- any idea how to secure the ends together?

If its long enough to wrap around you a few times you probably dont need a clasp etc. I just knot my thread then secure the knot with a dab of glue. If the hole on the end beads is wide enough you can 'hide' the knot in one of them too which is a neat finish. If you want a different look you could use something like a toggle clasp & loop.

thread type depends on weight of beads, alot of the commercially available long necklaces use a few strands of nymo or similar (I sometimes buy them and take them apart)
You can use super-glue to secure the knot
