So glad I'm not the only one. I did that recently with some wadding - particularly wanted the same. I had to go through all the sites matching the packaging.

Yes! I sign up to most websites because then they send you emails of offers, and you can keep track of who you have ordered from previously.
You could save every website that you order from as a favourite, or start a list on Word of the websites.

If you have a rough idea of when you viewed the site, have you tried looking back in your web browser history to see if you can find the sites. Or you will usually get an email to confirm a transaction is successful, so you can look in your past emails/bin or do a search within your emails, if you know the name of the item, or brand.

Also made the same mistake many times myself, so now I try and bookmark all the sites I buy from.

Using history tab on your web browser

Yes I do all the time. But Ive figured a way to trace my tracks using the HISTORY tab on my web browser. It lists all the sites you go on for up to 3 weeks. All you have to do is select the day you ordered them and then scroll down till you find it. I then make a point of bookmarking it for next time!!
he he. Once you figure it out its great!

I do this all the time and sometimes I can have something 2 or 3 months before I use it so the browser history method is no good.

I usually end up getting OH to get out the accounts and check through the receipts. Its a good job he's more organised than I am.

A lot of websites send an e-mail confirmation.
If you have webmail (e.g. googlemail) you can do a "product" search and
it will find the e-mail for you

It's even worse when you find something on a site, don't order at the time and forget to bookmark it.

I spend so much time on the Internet looking at pretty things, then have a sudden jolt of inspiration involving something I have seen, and can't remember where I found it!

                            So, so, so annoying

The other thing I do is write loads of things down and then never look at the page in my notebook again. I literally have hundreds of pages of notes that make no sense and contain random items!

I always hold onto invoices and receipts so, in theory, I can find out what I got, when and where from. Of course, in practise, things get lost or just in a pile of invoices that are so large that it's easier to try googling . . .
