right I've just about mastered the art of earrings
am going to post some photos in a moment of my creations
hubby now thinks I need to make matching necklaces bless him so my question is if I get a necklace chain and I make a pair of earrings do I just make up like a third earring ( using the same beads and a headpin ) and attach it to the chain with a jump ring ?? or is there a different technique for necklaces
sorry if its a stupid question lol

You could do that, or just use the same beads so that they match but not exactly, if you get me!?

I'd try to make it a little bit bigger. I always think pendants should be slighter bigger than the matching earrings.

not sure how to do it then
if I haven't got the same beads ( but bigger ) then they won't match will they ??
just as I think I'm getting the hang of all this along comes another problem lol
in hobbycraft they've got kits that have 2 smaller pendants for earrings and a larger one for the necklace that might be my best bet mightn't it ???

Just go with what feels right, and if you don't think it looks right, try again. We can only advise, we cannot tell you how to do it, it's your creation!

            Hi there

You could always try different styles of necklaces. If you didn't want to use a chain you could always use cord and organza ribbon secured at both ends with fastners then make the pendants to match the earring and thread on the necklet with a jump ring. Or you could use the same beads as you have used on some of the earrings and get some matching coloured beadalon or tigertail and use crimps to secure the beads between at sporadic intervals(almost like they are floating).
Sounds confusing but hope this helps!!

I thought I'd start off with a chain as its easier and then progress from there
still not sure though although common sense is telling me people will like matching earrings and necklace

Not always, i tend to make up sets, and price some seperately, some people will buy earrings as a stocking filler or to match something they already have

People do like matching items but also earrings that go with many necklaces...... if that makes sense.

You can make a replica of your earrings to go on a chain, but how about you get a large(ish) jumpring and attach the pendant you have made to match your earrings, then add additional dangles of crystals or smaller beads to make a cluster necklace or similar?

You could also try hanging a short chain on a jumpring, place your pendant at the bottom and attach other beads all the way up the chain, this also has an interesting look.

You can get things called cord ends that you close around multiple strands of leather or suede to make the chain from, rather than a metal chain. Try also for ribbon ends if you want to use a wide ribbon or something similar.

                  Hope this helps.

You could always make a duplicate of your earrings but with one larger matching/toning bead on the bottom.
