  • Some of my designs........

    Hi Ladies.
I've not been a member of this fourm very long so am still feeling my way about, but I've posted the address of my (new and under construction) web site for you to have a wee look at. The address is in my About Me page if you want to have a look at some of my stuff.
It's not finished by a long way but I've uploaded some pictures and have a lot more to add, but I would love to hear any comments or suggestions. Please be gentle haha!

Your work is lovely. The bookmarks are really unusual. If I had time to read I would buy one of them ( I used to be a book worm many many moons ago )
They would make lovely gifts though.

beautiful ! I just tried an illusion necklace with glass pearls. It didnt work very well. I just used normal clear beading thread but it doesnt seem to hold the weight of the pearls very well. Should i be using illusion wire?

                      Hi again

Thanks for all the positive comments girls!

I'm still constructing the site so have yet to add prices etc and I've not figured out how to put 'buy' buttons and stuff like that but I will get round to it!

Re. the illusion necklaces - yes, I find the illusion wire to be best for this. I've used Supplemax and Beadsmith types and they are both very strong, You can get different thicknesses if you shop around. I use tiny beadalon 2mm crimp beads and crimp pliers to anchor the beads on now. When I first started I just squished the crimps flat with pliers but it looks and feels so much better when they are crimped with crimp pliers. The only thing is, don't put too much pressure on the illusion wire or the crimp will cut through it and you'll have to start again (bah!). I've also ordered some Hypo cement to experiment with and see if I can glue the pearls in place, as this would look even better - no crimps!

                      Thanks again for your comments!

Good products, good site I'd work on the photos though, they're just a touch dark, theres threads on here that could help you with that.
