  • Help needed - gem chip stretch bracelets

    Hello all *waves*

I recently bought some 5 row gem chip stretch bracelets on ebay. They weren’t brilliantly strung and when i put one of them on... it cascaded all over my bedroom floor =/ I’d like to re-string them myself but not really sure where to start... what pattern to follow, what elastic to use etc. Also these were only strung with a single strand of elastic, looking at some other stretch bracelets i own.. they have two strings of elastic going through each bead/gem chip, is this better or does it start to get too complicated? I wanna do a good job so that they don’t fall apart again.

I do other crafty things but i'm clueless when it comes to jewellery! Hope someone can help =)

Personally I would probably put the chips on a few coils of memory wire to wrap around your wrist as I think the chips can rub on the elastic and break it. Just form a loop at each end to stop them coming off.

I was after more of a 'cuff' look though. I have some stretchy clear elastic that looks a bit like fishing line. i was hoping that wouldn't snap if i were to use something like that =/

If you use several coils they do look like a cuff - I have some made up - I will try and take a pic for you

Yes I did mean a continuous length of memory that would wrap around four or five times to look like a deep cuff if you see what I mean.
