  • A bit of a challenge

As a follow on from karens thread about her friend wanting her to teach jewellery, and my comment about our own interpretation making our designs unique, is anyone up for a bit of a fun challenge (no prize)?

I've put this in the jewellery forum as a jewellery specific challenge, although anyone can join in if they want to.

The challenge is to make a piece of jewellery using any combination of green, yellow and orange as the only colours. Unlimited silver or gold spacer beads, findings, wire etc, but I think it would be interesting to see how many different designs come out of fairly restricted raw materials.

Anyone up for a try of this one? Post a pic when you're done

What a brilliant idea! I don't really make jewellery, I've dabbled, then looked at other peoples jewellery, here on the forum and thought...maybe I should try pebble-dashing (lol). Could the term 'jewellery' be used in a very loose context? I've had an idea that I've been intending to get cracking with for ages and this just might be the kick up the B T M (as my Grandma used to say) that I need

I reckon we can probably substitute the word 'jewellery' for 'craft', as long as there are some beads in it somewhere

Love the pics that have already been posted, it just goes to show how different people's designs are.

I'd better pull my finger out and make somethig myself, I haven't got anything already made in those colours

I have stacks of green, some yellow and strangely, more orange than I remember buying

                    Do you have a deadline?

I vote that the prize is you get to wear your own creation! What a great prize!

I made this for the challenge today.
It's a bracelet, my first using wirework.
It looks red but is dark orange promise!!
                      And a focal swirl bead.

Ok I couldnt resist the challenge so I found some crystals Lt topaz,(the nearest i had to orange) crystolite(a very light green) and jonquil(a yellow crystal). These earring are very similar to a pair I have on my website but instead of 4 clusters of crystals I just did 3 this time. This design will also make a cracking necklace.....its just finding the time to do it!

I'm seriously impressed with some of these - they're all brilliant!!

Here's my contribution, I already made this one some time ago, but I've been too busy enjoying the sunshine to make anything for the past few days

                            http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/k...y/DSCF1722.jpg

If we get a bit of dull weather over the next few days then maybe I'll get on and do something while I'm off work, instead of lazing around in the garden (poor old me hey!)

oops I missed Pebbles post about the deadline. How about the end of June to give people time to make something if they want.

If people nominate their favourties, I'll count up the votes beginning of July and then we can have a few virtual glasses of bubbly to congratulate the winner!!
