  • Buying silver/tools

    Hello,

I have always bought my silver and tools when I am back home in Sweden, always nice to be in a store where you can actually look at the stuff.

But being a swedish shop it is not very cheap, so I searched around and found this site which I think have really good prices and also they seems to have everything.

Anyone in here that have had any experience with them?

Cooksons are good and best of all do next day delivery if you order before 10am.

HS Walsh have a wider range of tools but can be expensive
    Sutton tools are
For metals I either go to Cooksons or Palmer Metals in birmingham

    Hope this helps

        Hi Helen

I use cooksons quite a bit and they're very quick with delivery. I find them a bit pricey for tools but I usually get most of my silver from them. I sometimes use Palmers - they're good too. Have you tried Rashbels - http://www.rashbel.com/default.asp

That reminds me, I've got a couple of large pieces of spinning silver from Uno that I haven't used.... wonder if I can sell them?

            Hi Helen

I use Cooksons alot and they are good for silver but it's worth shopping around for your tools.

I also find Jewels Tools have some good bargains sometimes.

Thanks for all the tips about silver and tools site. I placed my silver order this morning with cooksongold.com.

I also made a cheeky question if they ever sell off damaged or left over gold (would love to try it out, but damn it is expensive). Do I need to say that they don't, but worth a try anyway.

HI Helen. you need to go to a pawn shop for this, ask if they will keep you some if they have none at present. With the price of gold, everyone is scrapping their gold almost as soon as they get it.

                  Good luck. Ruth

                    Scrap Metal

                    Hi,

Cooksons do have a scrap metal service. They send you out a scrap metal pot which you fill up and send back to them and they will reimburse you.

Hi since this is a discussion about STS findings etc, I thought I'd mention that I have a good range of Sterling Silver findings, beads, chain and wire.

On price, we compete well with the best of them, and on some items we are cheaper.

99% of orders go out the same day as they're ordered, and you've also got the Special delivery option for guaranteed next day delivery as well.

                      Thanks everyone
