    Hello!

    Was wondering if a blanket for a toy pram shoudl be ce tested? as it is kind of a toy? help!

    I thought if it is meant to be a toy then yes (ie, baby clothes don't need testing but dolls clothes do - even if the doll is big enough to wear baby sized clothes).

      Unless the pram blanket has additional features like ribbons (taggy style etc then no it doesn't need to be CE tested. However when making anything for children there are some things you are expected to do like adequate labelling etc. Your TS will be able to direct you in the right direction.

        According to my TS officer, accessories for dolls and other toys, as well as the toys themselves, must comply and hence carry a compliance mark. Hence as the blanket is for a toy pram (a doll's pram one assumes) then it must comply. Certainly the doll's bedding I made had to comply.

        Very often a doll accessory is too small to itself carry a compliance mark or label (viz mittens or socks for Barbie); no matter - it must still comply and carry a tag or ticket with the compliance mark on the packaging if it cannot be attached to itself.
