  • Looking for a birthday present for my mum...

...and hoping I can find it through the forum! I would like to get her something handmade. She likes quite danty things, but have bought her a lot of jewellery recently as my friend makes jewellery. Mum is in her early 60s... any ideas / suggestions? Feel free to do a sales pitch!

    Hi Katianne

I do not have anything of my own to sell but may be able to offer some ideas. Is your mum a collector or is she into more practical things like jewellery?

        Katianne,

I've got a nice jewellery box which you can view on Flickr to keep all the jewellery in that you've bought her before!

I could even personalise it with your mum's name on the side, or a message from you on the base. PM me if you would like more details!

        Si.

My mum also has a birthday coming up so I'm keeping a close eye on this thread for ideas. Last year I bought my mum a load of card making bits and pieces, but I'm not sure shes in touch with her creative side. I think shes made one.

Anyway Happy Birthday to your mum. Hope you find her something nice, I'm sure you will on here.

I made a necklace for my friends mum to her 60's birthday, or actually, it will be two when it is finished, the second she will get on mothers day.

            Anyway, it looks like this:

            http://www.youyours.se/25.html

Instead of the text you see there it says Mother and then one cubic zircon for each child. The second one says Grandmother with one cubic zircon for each grandchild.

And hope she gets a wonderful birthday!

              Any mums into bears?
Can't post links yet, but I do fabric bers rather than fur ones. Also do tartan if you have any Scottish connections.

Didn't you make a trivet for Jules for the secret santa. Could you make your mum a trivet and some coasters in your mosaic(sp?) style? Or perhaps a small compact mirror for her handbag.

Hi How about a cushion or maybe a nice soft towel with maybe some flowers and Happy Birthday Mum embroidered onto it. Take a look at my web-site. I can always design something especially for her or anyone who wants something a little bit different.

                      Happy Birthday to your mum!!

I agree - a chicken doorstop would be fab and could be customised to match the kitchen decor!

Or, does she send letters? I have some notelets on my website (under general occassions - I think as I've been having a faff with everything!)

Good luck with what ever you buy but you must tell us what it was!!

You might be sorted by now Katianne but if you have some nice family photos, I can turn them into kaleidescoped 3D hanging baubles that are unusual & quite dainty

Sorry I have no website or bloggy dude type thing just yet but I can always email you some pics for the time being if you like, just yell
