  • Business Card details: garh!!!

    Hi everyone!

Hope you are having a very crafty run up to Christmas!!!
l am designing my own second business card on Vistaprint U.K, but l am not sure what information to include.

My first card is for the Etsy shop and it includes my e-mail and web address. The second card is for my other line of jewellery/charms called "sweet charms by Kireina Jewellery".

l have not put these items on Etsy, because they don't really go with the lines of jewellery l have on there currently so l have a shop/blog on tumblr for people to order through. l am not sure what to put on my card - do l include my Etsy web address also? l am also selling my charms at a shop in Brighton - would l include this also?

l don't want to overload people with information! If y'all could have a look at the tumblr blog/shop and give me some advice then it would be very appreciated.

l would also be curious to know if anyone has tried a blog/shop before. l got this idea from a young woman at a craft fair, who doesn't have an Etsy shop, but uses a blog instead.

Everyone thinks vista print for cards etc but there are many other printers on the web, plus your local printer might be able to do a more individual job for you

I personally like moo cards and use them for all my business adventures.
With cards, I believe less is more. Don't overload with information, the usual name and contact would do with a small description of what you are doing. The main thing to do is to point your sites to one another. Like you said, you have a blog and Etsy shop, then point the card to your blog and have Etsy mentioned on your blog whith-in the landing page so visitors can also find you there.

      Hope the info helps.

There is a site giving away 100 free business cards at the moment, no postage fees either 100% free http://printandroid.co.uk/ hurry as the promo has been going for a short wile, I already got my cards and they are good quality too.

I would agree - if you have one place (a hub) where you can collate all your info then direct people there and just make sure that your hub then has all of the information people need, easily seen, to go where they want to go. Then you don't have to have different cards for different avenues as it were.

I'd go for your name, one web address and your phone number. Then tweak your tumblr so that all of your selling info and venues are there.

Wouldn't you do better to put everything in one place and advertise that. You dont want to confuse people with having your items in too many different places. If you do, then have a card for each different place and keep them separate.

I'll second the Moo cards recommendation, I got some for p&p only via folksy and they are very pretty with my photos on etc! Have had vista ones before and they are ok, but I love my moo ones!!

Is this offer for printing on both sides of the card? And is it full colour? Just been to their site and they're still running the promo but there's scant information on the print spec ...

Having looked at your Tumblr blog I think your cards should direct people there first and foremost. It looks great and you instruct people to go to Etsy for what you provide there. I find that if your SEO is good on Etsy then people find you there anyway. I think it would be worth mentioning on your bog that you sell through areal shop outlet too.

As for your cards, just put your Tumblr address, phone number and name. I think your website is clear and if people are savvy enough to go to your website they'll be savvy enough to click through to your Etsy shop if they want what you offer there.

Folksy partnering with Moo for this deal is very good I shall be ordering through Folksy soon

As others have said, less is more Just your business name, email, one url (making sure links to other venues are at the top of the blog/shop page) and your tagline/description.

Only have your phone number if you are confident being called up and discussing business! I know I personally prefer email

                  Good luck
