  • Post office info

The Royal Mail computer systems have crashed nationwide so currently no postage labels can be printed or money withdrawn at Post Offices across the country.

And it's the busiest day of the year....well it should have been.

Hopefully it'll be fixed soon but if you're planning a trip to the Post Office this afternoon probably best to hold on. I've been helping out at our local post office today (it wasn't me who broke it all honest) so will get a call when/if it's fixed and will let you all know.

Ive been to 4 po's today…1st one had a queue out the door, same as the second, 3rd, i had to queue up, 2 tills were open, then one, then none as the system had gone down.So I went to the 4th vowing to saty there all day if i had too.Luckily the guy at the till had presence of mind to make a public announcement and tell everybody in teh queue exactly what he was able to process. So I finally got my 1 package in the post.

Yes I think if you just need stamps (not a label) and can pay in cash you're OK.

Today was a nightmare! Complete systems failure for almost 2 hours - not what we needed a week before Christmas!

Thankfully most people were pretty understanding, the odd idiot as always but that can't be helped.

Hope you all got your orders out!
