Not sure if this will help anyone- irfanview. I downloaded it the other week and its really come in handy. its a picture program thats free. It does loads of things but what i soley wanted it for was to resize some pics and photos. Actually resize them and not just make them bigger, theres a section under the image tab (resize) and you can change the pixels, save as...bobs your uncle, or even if he's not ...it worked and i was really pleased after a week of trying!!

Oh YES, this is so, so needed. Different people's cameras will take different resolution pics so just saying 'reduce 50%' doesn't help at all. That information and the procedure for uploading pics to avatar AND to threads should be in the FAQ, where everybody can more easily find it.
Just IMO. Because I spent so long searching for this info yesterday and the day before.

Sorry, but that's just what I think.

You can and I do, straight from "My Pictures" where my photos are stored. All you need do is put the photo into paint, reduce to about 40%, "save as" back into "My pictures" and then upload as usual.

Dave.

The easiest way is to upload the image to a website (i prefer imgur.com). Copy the url of the image. Then when you make the post write ""

But I manage to upload directly into a thread Karen, with my mini sized photos that my mobile phone takes, without the need for the photos to be on facebook or in an album.

Ok then But why change something that was working perfectly to something that most other sites stopped using 5 yrs or more ago, just does not make any sense.

I have checked my camera and it takes pics for loading on to the internet no resizing needed and they where 275 x 300 methinks, but any way never been a problem before until the last 3 or 4 uploads and it is taking to much time as there is no problem elswhere.

Glenville use this website http://pixlr.com/editor/ to resize your photos, I tend to make mine about 500 pixels wide and this seems to be small enough to load on the forum but plenty big enough for people to see detail.
