• How to load a picture to the threads

I am just doing a new how to as the process is now much simpler

Your image must be located somewhere on the internet wither on a blog or a photo hosting site like flickr or photobucket.

Right click on the image you want to load to the thread. (copy image URL) or go to properties and then copy the URL)
on the forum, select the little image with the tree on. This will open a dialogue box.
Paste the code into the box and then click OK
you should see your image in the thread.
If it doesn't work, then try again, but untick the little box under the url before clicking ok.

What size pics are you allowed to post. I notice the previous poster said they are small. Do you mean avatar size? If I am viewing craft pics I would like to able to see the work clearly, avatar size pics are not helpful.

Glenville use this website http://pixlr.com/editor/ to resize your photos, I tend to make mine about 500 pixels wide and this seems to be small enough to load on the forum but plenty big enough for people to see detail.

I have checked my camera and it takes pics for loading on to the internet no resizing needed and they where 275 x 300 methinks, but any way never been a problem before until the last 3 or 4 uploads and it is taking to much time as there is no problem elswhere.

to load onto the forum the picture already needs to be on the internet (unless loading to your album) so once you have loaded to facebook, you can take the URL from there and load it ontot the forum, or do as Janette suggests and use a host site.

Ok then But why change something that was working perfectly to something that most other sites stopped using 5 yrs or more ago, just does not make any sense.

But I manage to upload directly into a thread Karen, with my mini sized photos that my mobile phone takes, without the need for the photos to be on facebook or in an album.

The easiest way is to upload the image to a website (i prefer imgur.com). Copy the url of the image. Then when you make the post write ""

You can and I do, straight from "My Pictures" where my photos are stored. All you need do is put the photo into paint, reduce to about 40%, "save as" back into "My pictures" and then upload as usual.
