Hello, I was just wondering if anyone knows the sfety regulations/requirements for selling paper lampshades? I have been making them from paper cut shapes, suspended on strings, chandelier style, and would like to start selling them. I have been using them in my own home with low energy bulbs and they are completely fine as there is no heat from the bulb (or very very little). Flame retardent sprays are not suitable for use on the paper.
The problem is that no one seems to know about the regulations, even Trading Standards said that there weren't really any but I should do more research.
The chinese paper shades for sale in the shops just say use with a maximum of 60w bulb.

It would be great if anyone out there knows or has made or sold them themselves.....
