  • Glass or plastic orb?

Hello, I just joined the forum, nice to meet everyone, on to the question...

I need to find a clear glass or plastic (glass prefered) orb or sphere which is hollow and comes in half. Ideally I would like i't to screw together but if I had to glue/cement it together that would be fine too.

I don't even know where to start to look, i've tried searching the web a bit but I still havn't found anything. If anyone can help it would be great.

    Thanks in advance, Chunk.

Well size, anything from about golf ball size to a bit bigger than a tennis ball. And i'll be making a "light up orby thing", basically i'm gonna be putting leds all around the inside it so that it lights up.

A range of sizes would be good really because small ones would make good christmas decorations and larger ones as lamps and such.

I really want to get stuck into it but unless I can find these spheres I can't do anything!!!

I guess I could try something like that but I would have to make the mould and I would want the orbs to be perfect. I think a pre-made one would be better. Thanks for the link though.

Thanks for the links guys, globalplastics looked really good but it was £15 for a 1 1/2" dome so that would be £30 a sphere, a bit expensive.
Also I thought of using glass baubles but I think they would be too thin to score and break in half.

As for hobbycraft they havn't got an online store which is annoying and my nearest one is 100 miles away.

Thanks for the help guys i'm sure i'll find one eventually.
