  • Anyone use WowThankYou?

    Hey folks

Am considering signing up to sell via www.wowthankyou.co.uk, who are offering a reduced joining fee during June. Does anyone here use it, and if so, how have you found it?

    Thanks all

I'm with them, they've been going a little while but just re-launched, I find Tracey really friendly and helpful, good communication and regular news updates.

        Sounds good

Do you get regular sales from the site? I'm on Folksy and Misi and have only had one sale across both sites in approx 6 months, so I'm a bit wary of spending more money signing up for something similar (Obviously, I do understand it's down to the product you have for sale, too!)

I was with them, but I had a problem with the free P&P. I couldn't offer it free on there and charge on my own website because the sales go through your own PayPal account and I couldn't see a way of separating it out. I toyed with the idea of a separate account but decided in the end to leave after they relaunched.

Tracey is very helpful but slightly overworked at the moment (in my opinion!). She does have loads of ideas and is working really hard to get the site off the ground. I did sell a few things while I was on there, and I'm sure things will continue to improve, as far as sales go.

I think it's completely different from Folksy and Misi - there's a lot more offline promotion being planned than either of those sites, for example, and it's all selected (they won't have "just anyone").

            Thanks Wendy

looking at the "buying" end of the site, there doesn't seem to be a rule about offering free P&P - that would be a bit of an issue for me, as I just don't think I can afford it, unless I increase my item prices.

Will have a bit more of a mosey about and see what else I can find!

I'm a bit put off by this stuff in the terms and conditions.

Registration for listing of products on the Website prior to February 14th 2011 is free after which all the new suppliers who will be wishing to join the Website will pay a one-off admin fee of £45, unless we offer a promotion saying otherwise. The £45 fee can be changed by us with no notice required.

Cancellation of membership within the first twelve months will carry a financial penalty of up to but not exceeding £100. The penalty will be determined or waived at our discretion on a case by case basis.

When a sale is made through the Website, we require a commission of 10% of the listed price of the product (without packaging and delivery charges). You must pay the amount due in full within 28 days of the date of the invoice the failure of which may result into the risks of penalties such as the suspension of privileges and/or termination of the account.

It seems far too pricey when compared to other sites available and I don't like the cancellation fee, so if I go for anything like this, I'll go with Folksy or Etsy.

I am with them (after joining with a reduced fee) Am yet to sell anything but will hang in there!! Tracey is really helpful and I think the site looks great!!

***Cancellation of membership within the first twelve months will carry a financial penalty of up to but not exceeding £100. The penalty will be determined or waived at our discretion on a case by case basis.*** Why would you need to cancel?....once you've paid the one off fee if you might as well keep your listings there for a year (it's not going to cost you any more unless you sell something, which is great no?)

I decided that £20 was a good amount to pay for advertising my wares and I do think it will grow and grow!! Only my opinion of course xx

I have been thinking about this site, i really like the idea of it being exclusive (with only certain people being allowed on the site). my issue with all hte othersites is the amount of people on there selling the same stuff, i think WTY give you the opportunity to make a name for your self in a fast growing community... its also nice to see people saying that the workers there are nice!

I think that will be my next site i join when i decide what it is that im going to start selling next!

I do have to say tho i dont really understand the signup fee? not sure what its used for, maybe when you sign up you get some sort of additional perks with their affiliates? i see they have a few on page ads?

                  Can any one confirm this?

I hope I'm not giving incorrect information but I think the sign up fees are being spent on advertising the site as much as possible. The site used to be slightly iffy in my opinion but has had an awful lot of work done on it, has been relaunched recently and is now beautiful and easy to use. Tracey is lovely to deal with, incredibly hardworking and has been pushing the site as much as possible advertising-wise in order to get the site known and in time that can only result in sales. As we all know advertising in the right places comes at a price.
What I like about Wow Thankyou is the genuine care that goes into everything. It's not just a cash cow otherwise she would let every old Tom **** and Harry on and then people's items would get lost in the crowd. I think it's worth 10% not to get lost personally.

I'm with Wow Thank you and GWAG so far I haven't had a sale from Wow but only registered start of year. I had my first sale off GWAG last week, I really need to get more bits uploaded!!

I have also just joined with a site based in Sheffield called 'Frooly' they are all for handmade too. It's £1 to join, and they do take comission but if you want to pay more joining fee the rate is reduced:

Yeah I've seen frooly before, it does look nice. The more of a presence you have the better in my opinion * skulks away to consider her lack of web presence* hehe x

I've been on Frooly for a good while now - over 8 months I think- and haven't had a sale

But it does go a long way to building a good web presence though. Am still thinking about WTY

is anyone else having a problem with the wow thank you website? Every time I click on something, the page loads up and then freezes! Very frustrating!
I like to make things - usually a mess!
Please look at my stuff and let me know what you think!
