Am I the only human being who struggles to work their way around Facebook. I have created a page for my handmade cards, but how do you recommend your page to other friends and businesses? Can anyone shed any light? Also, can someone please 'like' me, a big fat zero does not look good.

Hi, I also used to struggle but I'm getting a bit better at it now, I think you need to put your fb link in your signature so people can go straight to it from here. I tried through your web site but the link didn't seem to be working (unless its just me). I had to search for you It would also be a good idea to upload a few more pics into your albums. I know it's difficult when you feel you are talking to yourself but you need to get some posts onto your wall to make it look more approachable and friendly then I'm sure you will get more followers.
Can you ask friends and family to like you? that will help to start you off and if you follow places like 'Send in the Troops' I'm sure you will get lots more likes.

On your busines page on the right hand side you have come options:
      Notifications
      See All notifications
      Promote with an advert
      View Insights
      Suggest to Friends

If you click on the bottom one you can them suggest to friends.

Put your FB link in your sig then you will pick up followers on here, also the FB link on your website is not working

Ooo, thanks I hadn't spotted that either!
Caroline, I had a look at your page and noticed that you have linked your blog. How do you do that?
        Facebook just frustrates me!!

Not just you, I have a page but I don't really think anyone looks at it and I'm not sure how to beef it up really.

And I have never understood all those posts that relate to other people playing games ?!?

Facebook has always been something of an unpleasant mystery to me, but I forced myself to use it! It still feels a bit unnatural but customers are actually starting to follow me now which is fab. I've linked it to Twitter, so when I post on there it comes up on Twitter too.

I asked on here, on Twitter and on my blog for followers. When you ask, give them a direct link. If I had a link to your FB I would come and like you right now. Not sure if I'll get to your page by other means. I'll try. If I don't get there, come and like me (link in sig) and I'll like you back.

I also went to "send in the troops" on FB.

Now I get a few more likers every week just naturally.

Go to other people's pages and like them (use your personal account to like them, and leave a comment with a link to your business account - use the @ symbol, followed by your FB business name and it'll create a link). People will see you and pop over to like you too.

When you email customers, make sure you have links in your email signature, so people can like you, follow you, etc.

There are loads of pages on facebook where you can share your page with others & promote it, such as "send in the troops" "promote my fanpage" you can like peoples pages & like wendy said add the @ symbol & you can link your page on theirs! I do wonder how useful the facebook page is at times, I try & comment on mine regularly and add more pictures etc to keep people interested! I also have a link on there to my etsy shop. When I first set up the page you could share with friends but now they seem to have got rid of that option, so that may be why your friends didnt get the message. Add a link to your signature here & we can link to your page more easily!

I am the same. I dare not go onto my FB home page there is that much to delete. I just play scrabble on it and forget the rest. .

Scrabble? Seriously? I thought all the games on there were stuff like Farmville and food flinging. Not my cup of tea, but I could be persuaded to play Scrabble!

Thanks so much for the advise, it is good to know that I am not alone. I will certainly get around to uploading more photo's, I have had a professional picture taken of my handmade table names which I created for my daughter's holy communion last week.

Once again, thanks for your help
