  • Has anyone seen my mojo?

The last time I had my sewing mojo on was New Years Eve, when I finished making a frock to wear out that night... that's the last time I saw my sewing mojo, ever since then it's escaped me. I have a pile of hubby's waistcoats that need me to finish them, and a huge stash of fabric underneath my bed, as well as a healthy pile of vintage dressmaking patterns that are just screaming out to be used. If anyone finds my mojo, please can they pop it in the post back to me... I'd be really grateful... my hubby would be even more grateful given he's been waiting for his waistcoats for months now!

A good night out on the tiles usually encourages its return. (Or week if you can manage it).

I'm glad I'm not the only one who is mojo-less at the moment. I think what I'll do is after dinner tonight, get one of my sewing projects out and force myself to do an hour on it... I know you shouldn't force yourself to do your crafts because they are meant to be fun, but I just reckon once I get the sewing machine out that I'll remember how much fun I have with it anyway and my mojo will come back to me... failing that I better start looking down the back of the sofa!!!!!!

Thanks people for making me realise I'm not the only one!

Think it's that time of year Prudence. Lost mine since before christmas but have just made an effort and produced a necklace and it does help to have a go and remember how good it feels to produce something you are happy ( ish ) with again. We will all feel better when the evenings get lighter , the weather warmer and the feeling that summer won't be far behind.

Mine is there just needs a bit more encouragement to come out of hibernation. Hope you all find yours soon.

I have to agree with that it is the time of the year, i am good at starting things at the moment but as for finishing them well thats another story, i am sure once the sun shines again we will all feel in a better frame of mind and have more energy.
just to say it is so lovely to have like moned people to share craft talk with . thank you

I find that if I start a project, I take progress pics as I go, because this keeps me motivated to carry on....maybe this will help you too? Get all the things together that you need to work on, and take the first pic...then even after a bit of sewing take another. You can really see what you've done and it just helps...It's almost like once you've started you can't give up and stop. So this might give your Mojo a kick up the bum!?

I always lose mine at this time of year. It's such a meh time, neither one thing nor the other, and it's the end of my favourite time of year and starting to move onto the bit I hate - I really don't deal well with heat and the thought of another 'hottest summer on record' fills me with dread.

I thought my mojo might come back today, it was the first class back after half term, but no. I usually love being there, despite having to get up at stupid o'clock to get there but today just felt a bit meh. Found myself leaving an hour early and then being confronted by 3 girls who decided to stand the next best thing to on top of me and preceded to give me the evil eye despite me not having done or said anything to them. Maybe I didn't give them enough praise for simply existing, rubbish me!
