  • A horrid challenge!

Im going to try to not buy anything for a month.
My spending has got silly recently and could easily get worse.

If I do buy anything it will only be exactly what I need to make my already existing beads into a complete piece.

Im holding back my tears, dreading the long long looong days.

You should do a blog to detail how you are doing - I recently read one where the woman was trying to use what she had and only buying essentials - you could do that with your crafts! And it would give you something to do every day.....

Here's the link - http://theshoppingsherpa.blogspot.com/ You will have to scroll down a bit to see the fiscal fast as she called it!

It's a shame that there isn't a 'swap shop' where we could advertise any craft items that we no longer needed, enter the approximate price that they would be worth (or even state what sort of swap we were looking for)& let other people conact us with swaps. It would be good to do it kind of like an auction (I'm getting carried away now but don't stop me, I'm on a roll..) with an end date/time & at the end of the auction we could review all the swap offers to see if we would like any of them.
      Well it's just an idea!
I'm so sorry about your funds, it's really horrid when you have to be sooo careful.

Yep I agree - would be really good!
I've just started keeping a track of what I'm spending and income from craft sales to the penny. I was almost £21 down last month.........

I can really empathise with you because it isthe quietest time of year in my shop at the moment and i am trying so hard not to buy in any new stock that i dont absolutly have to have and it is extremly difficult, especially when the customers that do come in expect too still see new stuff arriving in by the truck load.
They dont seem to understand that less customers means less money to buy new stock!!

I used to spend a lot of time browsing (and eventually buying) on ebay. But, if I spend more time on here this means less spending!!!

                  Tadah!! Solution!!

                            tut, tut, tut, tut

I've never allowed myself to have a credit card because I would do soooo much damage with it. When I opened my account for my business money, they asked me "what size overdraft would you like" and I said zero. If I aint got it, I don't spend it (however, I do rely on the bank of Mum sometimes.....!!)

I think that's a wonderful idea. Maybe as an example, you could persuade all the moderators to do the same!
