  • does this look ok ??

we've had a couple of big wedding invitation orders and also just done a big 21st birthday invitation order , for the wedding invitations I bought a big box to present it in but we recently bought a box maker ( crafters companion ) so this week I made a box to put the place cards in that we delivered and decorated it in the same colours as the place cards ( forgot to take a photo though !! )
this week the 21st invitations are being collected so I've made this box , does it look ok ???

Yes they looknot just Ok I would go further than that they are very professional and the fact that your bothering to pack the invites in a unique box adds to your unique service - As always!!!

You wouldnt get this service from a shop - youre customers will be really pleased im sure of it!

I think that it looks wonderful. On the plus side I know that when we got married we kept a copy of every piece of stationary that we had made. Your box will make a wonderfull keepsake for the person to do this also. Why don't you make it a unique selling point.

thank you all for your comments
at the moment the boxes are a bit flimsy for my liking so I need to source out some thicker A3 card , I picked up some nice card in the paper mill shop but this was before I bought the card maker and realised it needs to be sturdier so I didn't get much but we're going there after christmas so will have a good look at what they've got
does anyone else know anywhere else I could get nice sturdy card in nice colours ??

I didn't even know there was such a thing as a box maker. I always keep lovely boxes for keeping special cards and such like in.
              A wonderful idea!

It looks great, very contemporary. I think it will definitely be something that is kept.

Well done sunrise, looks really lovely and finishes your invitations beautifully. The box maker is a great bit of equipment, very worthwhile having in your craft room. I'm sure your customer will be really pleased

Just a thought about card, I managed to get some lovely hammered card off ebay (250gsm or so?) cream and white. This is really lovely stuff and i use it to make the cards too. Anyhoo, what i do to make the box even sturdier is to cut 4 narrow strips of extra card, either in the same or coloured card and stick them around the sides of the box, making it look like a ribbon going around the box. If you make the 2 short sides about 1cm longer and bend them around the corners this will sort of anchor the sides and act like a brace bringing the box more into shape, getting rid of the tendency for the sides to bow out

These look absolutely wonderful. You have gone above and beyond what I am sure they will be expecting and it shows true professionalism.

I think you should be extremely proud of these - I am sure you will get lots of repeat business.

                          Congratulations on your great work.

                            ah thanks Alicat
its for one of our sons friends, she'd been looking everywhere for invitations but couldn't find what she wanted, our son recommended us and when they came last Monday the only idea she had was a pink and black theme !!
the black square with the pink 21 on it was suggested by our daughters boyfriend so its becoming a family affair lol
I was wary about taking them on as we've got so many orders and its our daughters 18th birthday in under two weeks and then christmas so its a manic house at the moment , I made up a design as soon as she left and within a couple of e.mails it was all decided and a week later they're done so quite pleased with ourselves really
