Necklace length

Ive been making arange of necklaces at 15" long.
I showed my mum the other day and said they wouldnt go round her neck(comfortably)but they go round mine.

Have I made them too short or is it personal preference?

I had printed off a list of necklace lengths/names but didnt bother to refer to it pre my range idea.I just thought if it fits me itl be ok.Im so selfish!!
