    Hi Seahorse
As far as I am aware a manila envelope is just a brown (manila coloured) envelope. A padded envelope has got bubble wrap inside to cushion the contents. They can come in brown and white ..maybe even other colours!

When I sold books I heard a lot of good things about Viking Direct on the amazon forums - they are very prompt deliverers and sometimes you get free gifts! I've never used them personally but lots of people have on the other forum and they didn't have any complaints.

I recommended Viking Direct a while back. I have used them quite a few times and have not had any problems.

You get free gifts from them too but I don't know if you need to register and get a catalogue.

Off topic here with the envelopes - we ordered leather fronted executive chairs for £24 (yes £24) they are excellent quality for £24 went and ordered a couple more. Nice and comfy!!

My husband uses them for most of his office stationery (envelopes etc) and has never had any complaints. They are really helpful if you need to telephone them (or want to phone them instead of the net).

            Hope this is of use.

            All the best.

Just did a quick check and their delivery for small items is £2.90 (orders over £30 are free)

They are also doing a buy one get one free offer on some envelopes.

                Hope this helps.

                All the best.

They certainly are, when you consider how much the b**tard Post Office have put their prices up to. Every little helps.

Couldnt have said it better myself.

Just added evrything up including postage and it comes to £2.27, not much leeway from £2.50 P+P charge to customer!
