Help please - Mirrors

Hi, Up till now, i've mostly been into Jewellery making, and a bit of card making, but i really fancy having a go at making mosaic mirrors. Not really sure where to start/look....

is there anyone who could point me in the right direction??

I have no idea how to do a mosaic, but heres a great site to get the actual mirror from. all sizes and shapes very reasonable prices too. Hope this helps. xxx

making mosaics is not a cheap hobby, even if you only want to make mirrors, there are many websites from which you can get mosaic tiles (including ebay) and basic shaped mirrors you can get from any diy store. However, you will need a backing for your mirror and something to hang them with. Or are you intending to mosaic straight onto a mirror??

Sorry but it is really quite involved. To start with I would suggest going to your local library and getting some mosaic technique books, these will tell you all the equipment you will need to start with

I might do that, thank you for your advise...not something to jump straight into then, I shall try a few books.

Watch out for the cost of the frames if that's your intention, & don't use cheap ones. I use sold oak frames for my prints & they sell!!! The cheap ones didn't.

thankyou. I've had a look at frames...they were more expensive that i was expecting, quite like the idea of reclaimed wood and such, trying to make my own....not sure how practical that is either...still, it's fun to research all of this.
