  • Logo Help!

    Hi all,

I'm currently in the process of trying to design a logo. I am not terribly good at that kind of arty thing so am really struggling! How did anyone else come up with their logos and does anyone have any ideas?

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

I'm the same as you I'm affraid. I just selected a background picture to put into my website design then it automatically inserted the name over it. I am quite happy with the result but may change it if I get any good ideas from the forum. It's mindblowing when you start from scratch isn't it?

vistaprint.co.uk have a free online logo designer. You can choose from loads of pics, fonts and effects and at the end it does prompt you to buy some products for your logo you can right click and save the picture for your own use.

Or theres microsoft clipart but I think you'd need to check the fineprint there.

If you want some of your work as a logo, if you fancy emailing me a pic of a small piece I can isolate the work onto a white background if you like.

      Just a thought!

Thanks for the advice! I had a play with vistaprint last night and came up with a concept i like, so now it's a case of adding the tweaks i want untill i'm happy. Here's what i have so far. I'm thinking of putting the swirls below the text with less of a curve and changing the colours to more purpley shades. What does anyone think?

I'm having the same problems, I did design my own but it really wasn't "clean" enough and it looked very "amateur-ish" so I found a lovely lady on line who is re-designing mine for me http://helenscott.carbonmade.com/
You give her your ideas etc. and the sort of things you make/create and she will come up with a logo for you and then do any tweeking it needs until you are happy with it. Her prices are very reasonable too....

Oo, I like it. And you said you weren't the arty type! I like the red and green though - makes it stand out. I'm sure you could play around forever with the colour scheme - it's always difficult to know when to stick.

This thread dates back to 2007 so I would hope she has sorted her logo by now...Oh just had a look, it appears she has stopped trading.
