  • change of name advice please

    hi all

i'm currently known as Chestnut Designs, i make soy wax candles and wax melts, i started out just making traditional style candles, but ventured into Gourmet candles early this year, this is also my first year of trying to make a business out of my candle making, my gourment candles are proving to be really successful and i'm developing more and more different kinds of food inspired candles. Anyway question is should i change my name, i would really like to call my business 'good enough to eat' as that is the comment i hear over and over. I need to make a decison soon as i'm launching a new website and will be getting new business cards etc at the same time. I have checked there is a company called Good enough to eat that make fake food items from Fimo so i thought i could have my registered name as good enough to eat candles but for display etc concentrate on just the GOOD ENOUGH TO EAT part... what do you think? any suggestions welcome

    thanks Louise x

Off the top of my head, how about "tasty candles" - your candles certainly do look fab and good enough to eat.

    Or "candles a la carte".

BTW do you have to label your candles as "not for consumption" as we do with soap if it looks like food?

i just use standard candles lables at the moment, but i'm getting my own done and i am including not for consumption and again need name sorting for this too

Had a look at your piccies, your stuff is really gorgeous can see why you are doing well with them. I love the idea of the 'Good Enough To Eat Candles' name, I'm no expert but I imagine so long as you include the 'candles' bit you should be ok but please don't quote me.

Where are you selling them are the mo?

Candelicious Candles, i like that i could just use Candelicious short and catchy...

i'm selling at local craft fairs and village fetes at the moment, hoping to have the website up and running by the end of August. I need to take some new pictures as i've done so many different types now, but unfortunatly my camera was squashed in a fireplace accident the other day!

Thats a shame, Candlicious was good. How about Candle Gourmet. or Wax Wonderful. (Sorry, not too inspired tonight).

Candelicious is a brilliant name, I think it's better than Good Enough to Eat which is a bit laborious, and doesn't say anything about being candles.
