  • Any interest in a sale?

I have about three large boxes of things that I have made that aren't really good enough to sell on Etsy etc and normally they would end up in the wood burner. If I get some pictures together of what I have is there any interest in a cut price sale. I would list everything at under a fiver probably and detail what's wrong with it IMHO It may be that some of the things that I think are naff would be OK once they have been tarted up by the pyros or any carvers etc. Maybe others may get ideas.

Let me know and if there is enough interest I'll sort out a kind of catalogue in photobucket.

As an example of what I am thinking of

Square bowl in Iroko with brass inlay: too thick and clunky, not quite square...can't stand Iroko anyway £3 +PP

Small non descript bowl in beech with aburnt line feature. approx 2" dia. Boring and totaly lacking in any appeal £3 +PP

Aw shucks, thanks for that. I'm actually just having a sort out. Believe me the pieces that I am going to get rid of are not up to scratch as is and may be of use to someone for practice etc or with the skill to enhance...something i have yet to learn. This is purely a housekeeping excercise and if they aren't of use to anyone then they will be keeping me warm this winter. I just don't want to go to the bother of making up a load of photos if there is no interest.

Yes, there's interest here. I'd be very happy to see any photos you have of the work you are planning to destroy!

                I'm interested!
Would love to take a peek and perhaps take some off your hands. You totally made me laugh with your 'displeased' comments on your work above and have not put me off at all!

I'd certainly be interested if you have anything that I could mosaic onto (something with a flat part)

I agree with the others your stuff is brilliant and different and obviously as a wood turner I can't see any defects, but if you are like me, then you see every little flaw in your own work!!!

Feel free to PM me any time if you have anything suitable that is not too heavily treated/finished... I can normally cover up mistakes with suitable pyro designs.

Maybe someone else can have a look in this time? Not everyone can offer a place in a book!

interested, interested and interested! You should sell them as seconds on your website, you might get more outside interest too. (and maybe not start a virtual scrap for the best bits )

Another interested person here! But I think having a 'seconds' page on your website sounds like a really good idea.

I agree, a "seconds" page would be great. But I'm not quite sure I would call it that though!!! Maybe a "not exactly perfect" page!!! Only my opinion though
