  • Cheeky! or What....

I sometimes get emails from Charities and the like asking for a donation for a prize draw...but this one I got today really takes the cake...

"Hello there, I know this is a bit cheeky but i can at least ask!! My best friend is having her Hen do in July and has put me in charge, I was thinking of making up some goodie bags and wondered if you had any free goodies available for me to put into them? Anything would be much appreciated"

I am absolutely Gobsmacked to think someone thinks I can afford to just give stuff away to random strangers...

I was too miffed to even reply...

I've had similar - a polite refusal is what they usually get.

As for charities - I get loads - 15 in one day recently.

Got to give her 10 out of 10 for trying. I wouldnt have the balls to send such an email. Our telephone at work rings more for people on the beg rather than clients wanting roofs done. My wife and I raise money for breast cancer care and find it very difficult asking for things for that, asking for a mates wedding is extremely cheeky

I've always wanted to use this smiley!! Never had a jaw-dropping excuse before, but this does take the biscuit.

I agree, I give her 10/10 for trying, 9/10 for a polite request but 2/10 for common sense to think that someone would just post off free gifts to a complete stranger.

*fffft*! That's rude indeed. It's not even for a 'good cause'....

It's just occurred to me that she emailed the Bath-Bomb.Com site(where I sell ingredients and kits to make bath & body Products) so perhaps I could send her a Kilo of Sodium Bicarbonate....

Not sure she'd find it very useful on it's own but if she then wanted to purchase a Kilo of Citric acid she could make some Alka-Seltzer for the hang overs after the hen Party...lol

We have had the same e-mail today. Can't believe she even puts her name and address on the e-mail. Wish I could think of a really smart reply.

Hmmmm! I don't feel quite so special now...lol

I wonder how she chooses who to email and how long she has been doing this? I also wonder if it is really for a hen party...

I'm also think ing she probably doesn't have a friend getting married - in fact she may not have any friends...
