I want to put in a findings order, but Ive been asked to make a couple of necklaces for people so I should incorporate parts for the necklaces in my next order(each order needs to be £25+).

One of them has my email address so she can let me know what she is after, Ive not heard from her yet.
No offence intended but I feel they are going to need a larger size necklace.

    So,
    1. I cant put an order in till Im contacted but I really need some stuff so its delaying it all, and
    2. How do I politely ask what chain length would be good for them?

Ive just seen i can get 20"/24"/28" necklaces from where I order from so should I give them all the selection of lengths to choose from, from 16" onwards?

    Well......

......you could ask them to be very accurate in measuring the length they need, as once the item is made to that specific length it is non-returnable if it doesn't fit. Or if it doesn't fit and they want it altered (if poss) then they'll have to pay for that service.

With your order, you could just send the client a polite friendly email explaining that you are putting in an order and you'd like to order their materials at the same time, so as not to keep them waiting for their item any longer than you have to.

It's not being pushy, this is a business you're running, and some customers just don't realise what it takes to order stuff, get it made up etc.

I've had clients ordering personalised aprons one day, then being on the phone the next day asking why I haven't finished it yet. I'd so love to tell them I sew with needles, not magic wands! And other clients ordering an apron without giving any details as to what they want on it "Oh anything'll do...." No, it won't, don't be afraid to ask for what you'd like! Most people are just great though. Can you do such & such? Yes I can, and they are thrilled to bits!

....... but it takes all sorts to make a world, I just get the dipsticks in mine

          International craft.

Every way I look they are the cheapest re findings.

Yes I suppose i could find somewhere else just to get a small order if I have to but sometimes I need chains which have links that can get a jump ring through, which means asking for a sample which means more time and my impatience,
