  • then and now

we started off making cards just over 2 years ago and had a shoebox full of stuff
we used to sit at the dining room table and craft
we then progressed to this storage unit

we then realised we had to convert the spare room
    so we did

but now look whats happened 2 years on
I've just spent all weekend organising it
where did all that stuff come from !!!

Wow! Looks like your business is doing well - just from the state of your 'stuff'! Looks like a comfortable work room too.

I know exactly where you're coming from there Sunrise, two years ago I too had a small box next to the dining room table, I then took over a cupboard & continued to spread, luckily for me when we moved into this house last year I have my office at the back of the garage and half of that is now craft room and in fact this afternoon hubby has made me some more storage as now I've started Stampin' Up! I've got even more craft goodies to house!

Like you say, where does it all come from (and how much how we spent getting it )

well done for getting round to organising it!
This rings lots of bells for me. I thought I would just make a couple of cards, bought a few peel offs and a pack of 10 cards and now I dread to think how many hundreds of pounds worth I have accumulated. I think its mainly dawn bibby's fault for starting me off but actually deep down inside I know its my fault for being a craft addict ha ha! I keep every offcut cos I feel guilty about how much I have got but what I dont have is decent storage system so rarely find it again at a time when I actually could do with it!!!

Ha ha!! I sooo know where you're coming from! I too started with a box, then took over a bit of our shared desk, then my OH had to buy another desk for him and now he's moved into another room as I've taken over so much! Ooops. Just spent all week end sorting out too. OH was laughing at me saying I enjoy the sorting out of all my craft bits as much as the actual making - I think he might be right!

                  Oh my god!

Thats really interesting to see how you've progressed.

I love seeing pictures of peoples 'creative spaces'. We should start a thread on this?!

Yeah, I kind of had a "Dawn Bibby" moment on QVC one day.. then I realised I "needed" to buy something to finish a project.. and so it goes on.. I daren't add up how much I have spent.. I try to keep it all tidy, but at first it was a drawer in a cheat of drawrs, now it is all the chest of drawers (admittedly one drawer is purely gift wrap!) and spreading fast to the spare computer desk.. where will it end!

I started with a small kit and one of those large popcorn plastic buckets with some beads in....my aim was to fill the bucket with beads, lol

now 5 years on I have 3 large sets of 4 drawer cabinets from wilkos full of beads and findings, plus 10 small drawer cabinets full of my more used beads and findings plus about 20 plastic stackable boxes full of stuff.
That doesn't include all my made up stuff.

I wouldn't dare supply a pic as it's really really messy , plus my stuff is dotted all over the house....ohhh for a spare room !!
