  • You're probably gonna hate me for mentioning Christmas but....

... I need to buy some Christmas baubles and wondered if anyone knew of any wholesalers with a decent range and prices.

I always put my small xmas beaded decs out on my stall throughout the year and I sold the last 5 on Saturday so need to make some more. Normally I just buy up the sale stock from B&Q and suchlike in January but I have no more of this size (3-4cm) left. And whilst people are buying them, I want to make some more but, obviously, can't find any in the shops.

    Suggestions (helpful!) greatly received...

Alright, you can all pelt me with Christmas pudding now! lol

Sorry if I am being dim are you buying ready made eg B&Q to resell or are you looking for blanks that you decorate? Have you got any pics of what you are wanting?

I have masses of Christmas decs (not my reason for asking) I want to sell and was going to wait until Nov but if people are buying now I may just take them to the boot fair and get them out the way early!

try asking in your local poundshop or wilkos, they may have stock in the back , failing that there are i agree with Aviya about the car boots...alot of people seem to be planning for Christmas much earlier this year, sign of the economic climate

Don't know if this will help, but there is a xams shop in Stratford upon avon.
There are a few of them around the country.
It is called the nutcracker xmas shop

It may be worth having a look at their web site, and maybe a call to see if there are any specials on offer, especially now, as it is a long way from xmas.

        It's www***tcrackerxmasshop.co.uk

        cheers

Have you tried The Market Trader magazine, they may have stockists for wholesale in there.

Not too early I bought the first present yesterday to put by, if I see something I like will always get it and not wait.

Peeks are OK.. though they seem to only have shatterproof ones at the moment www.peeks.co.uk they do a 5cm bauble 12 for £2.37 inc VAT in a few colours...

You could also try esources.co.uk, they list wholesalers under many categories, though you have to sign up for an account to get the specific contact details. They are geared up towards drop shipping wholesalers (i.e. companies that deliver their product to your customer so you dont have to hold stock personally), but a basic account is free, and you can order as much or as little as you like from the suppliers listed.

Thanks for all those suggestions - I'll do some searching on websites and see what I can find. I know there are some xmas shops around but there's none near me so I thought wholesalers might be my best bet. Might also ask at my local Wilkos.

Terry, I buy the plain matt shatterproof baubles and then weave beaded nets around them (there's a piccy of one on my profile). I make them in a range of colours and sizes. I've got plenty of larger sizes and have been putting both large & small baubles out on my stall and the small ones are selling. I don't know if that's any help in your deciding whether to start selling yours or not.

If I remember right, one of our members bought an awful lot very cheap after last Christmas. It may be that she has some of the size you want. I will have a search and see if I can find her.

I have just found it. It was Tinkerbel. She bought 1200 of them from B & Q

That's exactly what came into my mind too but I couldn't remember who is was

Totally off topic now but just had a look in your profile Wildheart to see what the baubles looked like and noticed the picture of the mosaic unicorn it's fabulous, did you make it, and if so do you sell them?

Hi, the unicorn was made for me by our very own craft forum mosaic queen, Moonbeam Angel (Diane). She made 3 mosaics in my chosen colourways and I was thrilled with them. I know she's made mosaics on commission for other members and she's easy to find on here! She's just posted 3 beautiful little mosaic fairies on the Craft Project thread, if that helps.
