Difficult one that. Much of what's on Twitter is a complete waste of space, even when limited to 140 characters. It's basically small talk, idle chit chat, with complete strangers (and friends/acquaintances) who may or may not be listening. Much like real life really, and sometimes you mention something that someone else might be interested in. Hey presto, you have a client. That's about it really. People MIGHT search and find something you've spoken about but more likely you'll get your message to the people who are actually "following" you, hence the desire for followers.

But boy does it waste a lot of time!!!!!

                Hey guys!!

I've ony just joined twitter too.....and thought to begin with its is absolutely pointless and really hard to understand! But im starting to warm to it now, its a bit confusing to begin with, with things like when you write to people you are actually really writing it to yourself because it stays on your wall.....and when someone writes to you, Its hard to know when because it doesnt show on your wall it stays on theirs....

Its all about getting used to new things I suppose. if you put an @ sign in front of a members name you write to them....and if you put a hash tag # right infront of a word (say for instance: #jewellery) when a person searches for jewellery in the search bar your post...with that word in will come up. This way, they will find you and possibly follow you.

Its good if you have a facebook page too. You can link it up to Twitter, great way to get more likes on your facebook page. I have followed @craftsforum, follow me back @thelottieful - not got many followers yet! but hopefully will soon.
