  • A bit of market research

I am thinking of doing some womens crochet cardigans, if you were buying a cardi for the summer what would you buy?
I started off with nothing and I've still got most if left.

I would look for long sleeves, soft tacrylic (I dont like the cotton ones on me) and beigey colours for the summer can go with most things.

Long and loose (gently flared) - both body and sleeves.

Light olive, light sage, stone, black, purple.

Slightly cropped, fitted, 3/4 length sleeves, poss with a cuff, scoop neck, big buttons. A nice cerise pink or white. These are my fav ones anyway.

jewel colours are very on trend this summer

                bright pinks, turquoise, oranges

I'd go for something long and loose... perhaps 3/4 sleeves or long sleeves in a nice lightweight fabric in either stone, cream or a nice light neutral colour.

Hope this helps. If you decide to go ahead with this then let me know, I would be very interested indeed

I agree with most of the others , long sleeves or 3/4 in cream, white or pastels but most definatly cropped, I'd prefer a cotton one with buttons rather than a tie fastening

I love cropped cardis and have them in loads of different colours

Definately 3/4 lenght sleeve stone or white the bolero type would be nice. Saw one yesterday with a bit of beading trim on the sleeve very nice (saw it on the telly haven't seen any for sale)

I like shrugs for summer, long sleeves but not much else for when it turns a bit too cool for just a vest.

I'd also buy a long length sleeveless - to go over a kurta/tunic top

Long sleeves probably. Maybe 3/4 length sleeves. If I put a cardi on it's because my arems are feeling a little chilly so short sleeved ones I always think are pretty pointless. I'd go for either cream/stone colour or something quite bright and cheery and summery, as long as I have some other clothes that go with it. I do have quite a brightish/palish (basically not flourescent) green cardi I wear in the summer. It's probably a good idea to see what colour clothes are in the shops and try to do something that would suit with those.

Thank you all for your replies. It really helps to know what people would buy.

All I have to do now is find some patterns.
